The mission of HLAA-Sarasota/Manatee Chapter is to open the world of communication to people with hearing loss by providing information, education, support and advocacy.

The Hearing Loss Association of America –  Sarasota/Manatee (HLAA-Sarasota/Manatee) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to facilitating sessions where members can help each other to improve our hearing through:

  • Education Our monthly meetings feature expert guest speakers to keep us up to date on the latest hearing devices, treatments and other support resources in the community. For a schedule of our upcoming regular chapter meetings, click on HLAS.

  • Information – Our selection of free brochures and flyers, plus our experienced members, will help you to identify many of the wonderful resources our community offers from a list of doctors and audiologists to suppliers of free phones and lip reading classes.

  • Support  We provide group discussions, rap sessions and peer mentors so every member can get the support they need.

  • Advocacy We promote hearing rights and access throughout our community. Our current lead project is to advocate for hearing loops within the two counties. For more details, click on Let’s Loop SRQ. We are also promoting captions at playhouses and movies.

We invite you to join us for a monthly meeting

Our monthly meetings are open to the community. We encourage you to visit and to tell us your hearing issues or needs, so our members can help you to a find solution within our community, which is blessed with so many hearing support resources.
