Education:The Hearing Loss Association of Sarasota (HLAS) offers monthly meetings in which expert speakers teach us how to better manage our hearing loss. The Young Hearing Group meets quarterly.
Advocacy: HLAS promotes greater use of Hearing Loop Systems and Captions in theatres, houses of worship and across the community.
Support: Our monthly HLAS and quarterly YHG sessions also provide information and support on how to address personal, family and work related hearing loss issues.
HLAS is the local chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America, the nation’s leading group for education, advocacy and support of the hard-of-hearing.
HLAS wins the first national “Get in the Hearing Loop” Award at the HLAA National Convention.
